The cricket ball is a great expense to cricket clubs, and often bound by sponsorship deals for match play. Inexpensive training balls are used that may not be the best option in the long run. Bat makers dread the effect these balls have on their crafted blades.

Often the cheaper generically branded balls that are available are the main offenders.  Without the means to inspect the quality of the core, the bat makers and the end user is at the mercy of the ball provider.  However, the cricket ball industry is now benefiting from a major industrial manufacturer bringing its wide experience of development and innovation into this market.

Tiflex are experts in the field of impact and vibration absorbing compounds, particularly where recovery of the compound to its pre-impact state is a key requirement.  Products manufactured by Tiflex are used in situations for absorbing vibrations in buildings caused by underground railways, in rail tracks caused by trains and in factories caused by machinery to name but a few.

Oxbridge Cricket Balls

Tiflex have brought their huge technological experience to challenge the cricket ball industry with the Oxbridge brand of cricket ball. They have the best testing facilities in the UK and in-house trained scientists to develop the products and a state of the art laboratory, part of which has been set aside for the development and testing of cricket balls to maintain an even balance between bat and ball. This extends to specialist balls for coaching batting against varying levels of bounce, swing, movement etc….  These balls are manufactured in the UK, under very strict quality control, unlike the competition.

Here in Australia, the monopoly on the provision of match balls from one brand has been challenged, and competition is finally being allowed to enter the market. The Windsor is presented for approval by the WACA for use in 3rd and 4th Premier league cricket.  Bradbury are continuing to work with the governing bodies of cricket in Australia and Tiflex to develop a cost effective ball that is most suitable for matchplay in Australia and less likely to cause excessive damage to equipment.
